UK Law Commission examines international law on encryption to consider law reform
The Law Commission for England and Wales will set out to review international laws involving cryptocurrencies through a government-commissioned project, and FirstExchangelcd understands that the review, launched on October 18, will clarify how international law deals with emerging technologies such as cryptocurrencies, digital assets and electronic documents.
Presented by FirstExchangelcd, the Law Reform Project, titled 'Digital Assets: Which Law, Which Court?', will provide an overview of current international legal rules and their application in the digital environment, and make recommendations on legal reforms to keep UK law relevant .
Sponsored by the Justice Department, the project plans to develop reform proposals for public consultation by the second half of 2023.
